  16. Installation
  17. ------------

  19. Copy all files from the release disk into a new directory (eg. KITHKIN) on
  20. your hard disk.
  21.  
  22. Run KITHKIN.EXE from the File Manager or create a new program item in the
  23. Program Manager and double click on the Kith and Kin icon.
  24. You can launch Kith and Kin from a Tree File (.TRE) if you have associated
  25. .TRE files with KITHKIN.EXE in the File Manager.
  26. The program (.EXE), help (.HLP) and options (.OPT) files must all reside in
  27. the same directory.

  29. To get you off to a flying start using Kith and Kin, read the help topic
  30. "Getting Started". This will lead you through the basics.
  31.  
  32. The file BWCC.DLL should reside in either the KITHKIN or WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  33. directories or in another directory in your PATH. Since it is a common DLL
  34. you may already have it on your system in which case you need only one copy
  35. available.

  42. Version 2.03 :
  43.  
  44. Kith and Kin was gradually eating up system resources, leading to
  45. insufficient memory after long sessions. This has been fixed.
  46.  
  47. The maximum number of generations for Descendant and Ancestral Tree prints
  48. has been increased to 80.
  49.  
  50. An overlap occurred in Descendant and Ancestral Tree prints where a
  51. person had an empty record. This has been fixed.
  52.  
  53. Print setup no longer changes the system default. Any changes are local
  54. to the current K&K session.
  55.  
  56. It is no longer possible to make the a single person appear more than once
  57. as a child of a single family. Similarly for marriages in Person Data.

  59. You can now specify a Person or Family code in the Range|From field of a
  60. Person or Family Details print which does not exist. Kith and Kin will
  61. skip to the next valid code.

  69. This product is SHAREWARE. The version on this release disk is a fully
  70. functional evaluation copy which you may install and use free of charge
  71. for 30 days. After that time, if you wish to continue using the program you
  72. must become a registered user. Details of how to register are available in
  73. the on-line help.
  74. If you have been using an earlier version of Kith and Kin some of your tree
  75. (.TRE) and options (.OPT) files may require conversion before they can be
  76. used with this version. A data file conversion program is included with all
  77. registered versions of Kith and Kin.
